Hello RV family. I know I’ve not posted in a little while, work is getting so busy and all the things we squeeze in after work too. So I made a green salad dressing with lemon verbena herbs that my herbal teacher gave me and another student from her garden, we are both in our advanced herbal course, called clinical herbalism. She has 25 other student in her foundational course and has a wait list of 105 students for this fall. She asked me to help her with grading (for a few) but I’m so overwhelmed with other courses I teach and grade and then her course to study in myself and my regular 9-5. Maybe it is time for me to move out of my 9-5? Trying to stay for 2 more years then leave?? Well I forgot to take a picture of my salad, but it was basic with mixed greens, cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, shredded carrots. Was wanting not to add oils or fats for the next seven days to give my liver a break!

Good lecture today and encouragement by Sis Kwasa. One of the many things she shared was making lentil sprouts for turning into patties. I will start off small. After a day of soaking (or 8-12 hours) I will drain and finish daily until these lentils sprout.…jar sprouting….

Cut up a stem or two of aloe and put into a 32 oz jar but only enough to go to the 1/4 mark (of the jar, (cover the bottom) best to devein the sides to make cutting small pieces easier. Then pour in clean water to almost the top and cover the jar and let sit on counter for 4 hours to infuse. After that you will store in refrigerator but drink 2 cups a day for digestive health among other internal healing actions! Don’t keep past 3 days…

I’ve been battling a slightly elevated blood pressure and I feel it is stress among other things 🤯. But today was a “body in balance” day where both food consumption and exercise intertwined and I left the office at the end of the day with no laptop, no work notebook and no other people’s work, no bags of work stuff! 💼 This is the first time in years and I plan on doing this for the next couple of days….just to feel less stress and stress free! 💯 This was the hardest thing for me to do (in the past I felt irresponsible, a false self pressure 😤) but I knew that I needed to make this change today! Lunch bag only!!🥑🥬🍒🍉🍋

Today’s movement practice with a few ladies and Ms Delilah went well, got to incorporate exercise into my day and stretching, ending with us setting an intention for the rest of our day. I enjoyed it, learning and reinforcing the importance of daily exercise even when my mind tries to talk my body out of it! Lol! 😂

Earlier today I was determined to walk despite the cloudy weather, I had a feeling it wouldn’t rain so I enjoyed a little longer walk outside and had a brighter perspective on what I can do to keep moving daily….

research shows having a feeling of being connected and supported increases beneficial hormones that help us to better respond to stress, helps to regulate the immune system and it can reduce inflammation in the body and so much more! This is so important in today’s world when so many people live alone or without a loved one in our home who may not be on our current dietary journey…..💕

Today I walked for 30 minutes outside. It was chilly for this part of Florida. I am grateful for another day to make positive changes….🙏🏾

Trying to keep up and log in at least once before the week ends! I am getting my morning walks in and eating for health! This morning I tried Courtney’s grapefruit, strawberry, banana smoothie- it had great flavor with a touch of tartness, (bitters to contribute to good digestion!). Topped my salad with thin slices of raw red beets! I can be remember when I didn’t like beets at all…

Today I did an hour of walking today but I split it into 2 sessions, once in the morning and once this evening! I also did the same thing yesterday which marked the first day of doing these doubles! I think my energy is coming back! 😊

Got my movement in on the treadmill late yesterday Saturday. I have to walk at this time as I will be having surgery soon. Today I only had fruit about 2pm water the rest of the day. I had planned on making the cheesecake, but didn’t soak the nuts until late, so will try tomorrow (Sunday) and my papaya should be more ripe to do the chia dish. Again seeds which are now soaking in the cocnut water too. I have to learn to plan better for soaking nuts and seeds, that is really important for better digestion, removes enzyme inhibitors. Hope to see everyone on the zoom. I’ve noticed less inflammation in my ankels and I lost 5 lbs total 2 weeks. That is the beat in months of trying traditional methods. I feel much better generally too! Starting picture and finished picture. I only got a mile walk in and took me 26 minutes but I’m Feeling grateful! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🍉🍏🍎

Done! got a late workout in. I have followed Brian Syuki in the recent past, he is different and I had to do about a week of him before I appreciated his workouts; at first I did not but kept trying. I would say for the intermediate workout person. He doesn’t talk during workout and has a plain clean background with a timer line. He has many free workouts and a paid challenge if you like. He won a youtube award. Last night ( Wednesday I did a 20 minute workout session with him) you can always slow down and modify movements. There are no floor movements here, just standing up.
